I thoroughly enjoyed this session and ended up applying what we learned about preparing the people attending this type of gathering for what it is going to be in my own life by having my friends over for a wine night while letting them know beforehand the goal was to get to know each other on a deeper level. I think everyone went into the event a little nervous but as things went along people got more comfortable with the topics and saw how everyone was putting so much thought and care into the conversations that it made them buy in more and it resulted in a lovely evening for everyone. I think it's a technique for gatherings that I will continue to use into the future when I want to deepen my connection with the people who are usually around me.
